This time depends on the volume of food to prepare and also how good you are with the chopping knife.
Ingredients for Hoisin Chicken Stir Fry
400gm of chicken breasts, chopped thinly or how you like it cut
1/3 of a cup of hoisin sauce, any brand
1/3 of a cup of peanut oil
2 x cloves of garlic sliced or a couple of spoons of the already prepared garlic puree
1 x red onion, cut the onion into small pieces
100gm of fresh green beans
1 x sliced bok choy
1 x red or green capsicum cut up
2 x spring onions, sliced
Steamed rice
Cook and Serve
Place the 400gm of chicken breast and 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce into a bowl.
Leave the ingredients to stand at room temperature for 15 minutes, this will marinate the chicken slightly.
Then you heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan on high heat, this can be a deep pan as there may be a bit of oil spattering or maybe you can use a wok if you have one.
Add in the chicken and stir fry until the chicken is a golden brown colour.
Transfer the chicken to a separate plate.
You then can clean the pan and you are ready for phase two of the cooking.
Reheat the frying pan on high heat and then add the last part of the frying oil.
Add in the garlic, then stir fry for 2 minutes or until the garlic is starting to take on a golden brown colour also like the chicken.
Throw in the red onion, the green beans, the cut up bok choy and your capsicum into the pan and then stir fry all of these together for another 2 minutes.
Then add the pre prepared golden brown chicken back into pan along with the spring onions and 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce.
Continue to stir fry until the chicken is cooked through if it wasn’t already and vegetables you added are starting to get softer.
Serve the hoisin chicken stir fry in bowls with the steamed rice either as a bed or as a separate side dish that you can add to the main plate.
And there you have it, Hoisin Chicken Stir Fry, quite an easy protein recipe.
The amount of carbohydrates can obviously be varied with the amount of rice you eat with the recipe or you may wish to not have rice with the meal at all and just bump up the vegetables a little more.
